Patch Notes - 1.0.35

Below you will find the important changes and additions that will be applied to TERA on the 23rd of August 2012.

Changes & Additions


The battlegrounds have been introduced for your PvP pleasure!
  • Two teams of fifteen face against each other in the ultimate demonstration of PvP prowess.
  • Fight for control over 3 bases, your team gains points when you have at least one more base than the opposing team. Killing is all well and good, but make sure to play for the objective!
  • Neutral monsters prowl the battlegrounds, killing them provides your team with a small number of points, and you with a buff. The question is, do you kill the mobs and get back to the fight, or put your body on the line to secure an objective? 
  • Should a seemingly insurmountable lead develop, the losing team will receive buffs to assist in their fight for survival.
  • The battlegrounds can be accessed from anywhere within the world of TERA. A few simple clicks, and you're in a game!
  • So as to ensure that all stat tracking is up to date and relevant, battleground records are reset every 90 days, and the rankings every week.
  • The battlegrounds feature a 10 minute cooldown. Don't forget to grab the right gear before marching into the melee! 
  • Matchmaking will attempt  to match pre-made 15 person raids against other pre-made 15 person raids.
  •  Should you be part of a smaller group or party, matchmaking will place you in a team that will face another team comprised of smaller groups.
  • In order to win, your team must reach 5000 points, or have the most points when the timer runs out. 
    • A player kill will award your team 5 points
    • Capturing a base will award your team 200 points
    • Should you control more bases than your opposition, you will earn the following amount of points each second:
      • 1 Base = 3 points/second
      • 2 Bases = 5 points/second
      • 3 Bases = 7 points/second
    • Killing the Naga BAM will award your team 600 points
    • Killing the Elemental BAM will award your team 50 points
    • Normal mobs provide 10 points as well as buffs
  • While match-making, you can choose to become your team's battleground leader, thereby providing you with the ability to damage dealing meteors that also slow their victems.
    •  Leaders can also scan the area, revealing enemy positions on the map
  • Guild Vs Guild Vanarch campaigns are not tracked in the battlegrounds.
  • Your own contribution towards your team's success is measured and will determine the prizes you receive at the end of the match. Points are distributed in the following manner
    • PvP Kill: 300 Points
    • A Kill assist: 150 Points
    • Capturing a base: 500 Points
  • At the end of the match Bellicarium credits are distributed in the following manner:
    •  Randomly assembled raid victories earn 80 credits. A loss will earn you 30.
    •  Pre-assembled raids earn 35 credits for a win and 15 for a loss.
    • You also earn 1 percent of your individual score as credits. This bonus is capped at 50 for randomly assembled raids and 30 for pre-assembled raids.
    • These credits can be used to purchase items from the Battleground vendors.
  • Bounties of Frey can be purchased after victory, they randomly drop consumables for enchantment, Muhrak Black Label gloves and boots, and of course battleground gear.
  • Use of the following items is restricted within the battlegrounds so as to ensure a fair and balanced experience:
    • Scroll of savagery
    • Scroll of carving
    • Scroll of impact
    • Scroll of swiftness
    • Fleetfoot scroll
    • Warding scroll
    • Curative scroll
    • Scroll of Tenacity
    • Caduceus Scroll
    • Major curative scroll
    • Major scroll of tenacity
    • Major caduceus scroll
    • Scroll of dash
    • Various HP/MP potions
    • Heart potion
    • Unfocusing bomb
    • Bramblefoot bomb
  • Achievement Unlocked: New Achievements added!
    • 1 win in the battlegrounds!: 2 Bounties of the Fray
    • 3 wins in the battlegrounds!: 2 Bounties of the Fray
    • 5 wins in the battlegrounds!: 2 Bounties of the Fray
    • Journey to glorious victories: 5 Bounties of the Fray
    • The Bounties of the Fray randomly provide, enchantment related consumables, Battleground gears, Muhrak Black Label gloves or boots.

It's Time to Raid TERA!

If 5 player parties are slightly too small for your liking, fear not! The Argon Queen will introduce a brand new raid system to TERA, as well as an all new raid event!
  • Group up with between 2 and 20 of your friends to form a raid group with which you can participate in Nexus events, battlegrounds, and the new Nexus raid event, the Nexus Traverse.  
    • The Nexus Traverse, the focal point from which all Nexuses originate, opens once the three Nexus stages have been completed, allowing you to enter a brand new raid instance to fight for gear and rewards. 
    • Once a raid member enters, the rest of the raid can teleport to them.
    • Upon entering the Traverse, players will receive the dimensional anchor buff which allows them to respawn within the instance. 
  • Raids can be created with a minimum of 2 players, and can be disbanded when the entire raid has fewer than 5 players. No man left behind! (until there are 4 or fewer in the raid).
  • Raids can contain a maximum of 4 parties.
  • 20 players ganging up on normal mobs could soon place their species on an endangered animals watch list. As such, the following factors must be borne in mind when fighting normal open world mobs as a member of a raid.
    • You will receive 1% of the normal amount of XP earned
    • You will receive 1% of the normal amount of gold earned
    • Only 1% of the normal item drop rate is applied
    • Other than Agnitor reputation points, no other reputation points can be earned
  • When in raid parties, players cannot receive rewards from normal quests.
  • TERA's UI has received a significant upgrade in order to ensure that players receive all of the information that they need in a raid environment. 
    • The raid leader can check the combat readiness of the raid members
    • Only raid leaders and chosen members can invite players to a raid group
    • The raid leader can drag and drop members into position
    • The raid leader can delegate kicking duty to others in the group

Three more high level dungeons have been added!

The Federation's continued exploration of both Northern and Southern Shara has resulted in the discovery of three never before seen dungeons, each sequestering away monstrous mobs and colossal bosses!

Argon Corpus

This dungeon demonstrates precisely the kind of damage the Argon threat can deal. Available in both normal and hard modes, Argon Corpus will prove to be a tough test for anyone. As such, the following restrictions apply:
  • Character level required: 60
  • Item level required by the dungeon finder tool:
    • Normal: 142
    • Hard: 146
  • Cooldown time:
    • Normal: 2 Hrs
    • Hard: 6 hrs
  • he brand new Tier 14 ‘Meldita’ series of gear can be obtained in this dungeon. It's time to get looting!

Sirjuka Gallery

Featuring luscious vegetation and exotic enemies, Sirjuka Gallery's tiered progression system allows the dungeon to be provide an extremely tough challenge, while ensuring that unsuccessful attempts are still rewarded. This dungeon contains the following features:
  • A brand new way to earn rewards from dungeon runs. Sirjuka Gallery features multiple stages, each of which must be completed while defending mystical crystals from waves of attack.
  • The following quests must be completed as pre-requisites to enter the dungeon:
    • Fraya Lohen’s Letter
    • Malachai’s Secret Research
    • Finding Traces
  • Item level required by the dungeon finder tool: 147 
  • You can breach the dungeon’s entrance three times per day.
  • There are 5 tiers of rewards and you will receive rewards from the various tiers via mail depending, of course, on how far you penetrate into the depths of the dungeon.
  • Sirjuka coins can be collected within this dungeon and then be traded for glyphs or glyph boxes.

Manaya's Core
This is it, the fate of everything you have fought for to date will be decided here, it's time to take on the Argon Queen herself! No one has entered her cavern and lived to tell the tale so details about what else awaits are scarce. It is up to you to unravel the twisted truths and represent the Federation with honor! Due to the difficulty of this dungeon, the following requirements must be met before you can gain access to the almost certain death that awaits within:
  • Character level required: 60
  • Item level required by the dungeon finder tool: 153
  • You can breach the dungeon’s entrance once per day.

Deep within the cavernous depths of Manaya's Core lie some of the finest gear and components known to the world. Here, you may stumble across the brand new Tier 14 "Shandra Manaya" series of gear. Not only that, but you can collect components that will allow you to craft the "Blacksmith" series as well! Class Refinements & Additions

The Warrior and Lancer classes have received a new attribute resource known as Resolve. Resolve has its own usage meter that drains when Warriors and Lancers carry out defensive and evasive actions, without draining their mana pool. This then allows these tanking classes to hold onto monster aggression more effectively, and even launch their own assaults when the time is right.

New Skill Addition:

  • Cross Parry:
    • The Warrior crosses his blades, blocking attacks landing on him from the front.
    • Can be activated by pressing the button and will be sustained for as long as the button is depressed.
    • Learned at level 14
    • Resolve consumption: 50 every 0.5 seconds
    • When in PvP, the amount of Resolve consumed will be proportional to damage received.
  • Smoke Flanker:
    • While defending, the Warrior summons a shadow of himself at his position and instantaneously teleports to behind his aggressor, leaving the shadow to take over his aggression.
    • Learned at level 18
    • Resolve consumed: 300
    • Cooldown: 2 minutes
  • Reaping Slash:
    • The Warrior twists and bends his body as he lands blow after blow, each inflicting an additional 25% of damage, with a maximum stack of 3.
    • Level learned: 18

Existing Skill Refinement:
  • Battle Cry
    • The range of the skill has been increased from 7m to 10m
    • Battle Cry no longer stacks
  • Scythe
    • This skill can now be stacked up to a maximum of 3 times
    • The damage buff has been increased
  • The acquisition of aggression has been increased:
    • Torrent of Blows level 1-7 has been increased by 167%
    • Torrent of Blows level 8 has been increased by 131%
    • Battle Cry 7: 136%
  • Power stat change:
    • The Warrior’s power stat has been changed from 55 to 45
    • The Assault stance enhancements ensure that the overall damage dealing ability of the Warrior remains the same
  • The Warrior’s ability to maintain stacks has been changed from 10 to 8 seconds
  • Warriors can select to either queue in the dungeon finder tool as a damage dealer (red), or tank (blue).

  • The Vanarch GvG scoring system has been updated. It now operates in the following manner:
    • 1 GvG win = 20 Points
    • 2 GvG wins = 20 Points
    • 5 GvG wins = 20 Points
    • 8 GvG wins = 30 Points
    • 12 GvG wins = 30 Points
    • 16 GvG wins = 30 Points
    • 20 GvG wins = 40 Points
    • 25 GvG wins = 40 Points
    • 30 GvG wins = 40 Points
    • 40 GvG wins = 50 Points


The PvP impact factor for the following stun-causing skills has been reduced:

Damage Resistence

The classes’ ability to stand up to PvP damage has been adjusted as follows:
  • Warrior: damage received during PVP is increased 6%
  • Slayer: damage received during PVP is decreased 3%
  • Sorcerer: damage received during PVP is decreased 31%
  • Archer: damage received during PVP is decreased 5%
  • Priest: damage received during PVP is decreased 43%
  • Mystic: damage received during PVP is decreased 28%
  • Lancer: no change
  • Berserker: no change


Certain green crystals have received some balancing adjustments:
  • Relentless Zyrk: HP increase stat has been reduced from 1781 to 1246
  • Pristine Relentless Zyrk: HP increase stat has been reduced from 2404 to 1683
  • Slaying Rhomb: Effects only apply in PvE environments

The following green crystals have received PvP adjustments:
  • Griefing Zyrk: The attack damage reduction has been revised for PvP
  • Pristine Griefing Zyrk: The attack damage reduction has been revised for PvP
  • Indomnitable Zyrk: The attack damage reduction has been revised for PvP
  • Pristine Indomnitable Zyrk: The attack damage reduction has been revised for PvP

Warrior Glyphs

  • Glyph of Threat: Increases Aggro to 100%
  • Glyph of Unending: Decreases Resolve consumption by 100


The reputation cap has been increased from 6,000 to 24,000.

Instance Dungeons:

  • Cool down times for all pre-level 60 dungeons have been set at 10 minutes
    • When using the dungeon finder system, the cool time goes down to 5 minutes

Item Adjustments:

  • Prices for the following items have been changed:
    • Cupra Ensiform: 1 gold
    • Argent Ensiform: 2 gold
    • Powerful Rival Draught: 50 gold
    • Tenacious Savage Draught: 50 gold
  • Item Drops:
    • The boss monster for Balder’s Temple (Hard) & Fane of Kaprima (Hard) drops T14 sacrifice items

  • Temple of Temerity:
    • The price of a Practicum Badge has been decreased from 10 gold to 5 gold.
    • The price of a Dire Badge has been decreased from 50 gold to 25 gold.
    • The number of Practicum Badges required to obtain glyph boxes has been decreased from 15 to 10.
    • The number of Dire Bades required to obtain glyph boxes has been decreased from 60 to 30.
  • The following field BAMs now drop T13 and T14 sacrifice items:
    • Thrallhold
    • Three Towers
    • Tirkai Forest
    • Khanovar Front
    • Argonea
    • Granarkus
    • Balder’s Refuge
  • Stackable Items:
    • The number of stacks for certain items has been increased
  • The passive attributes belonging to the "Ice" and "Fire" series' of gear are now the same as the "Dreamkeeper" series.
  • All items level 58 and below are now eligible as remodel templates.

Cleric of Restoration:

The Noble Cleric of Restoration can now restore HP, MP, stamina and status.
  • This does not apply to standard Clerics of Restoration
  • The only Cleric of Restoration skilled enough to provide these services resides at the North gate of Velika.


  • Decreased the number of reputation points required to earn green crystals
  • The merchant price for all ingredient items that are dropped by normal monsters has been reduced by 1/10.
  • When exiting the game or moving to the lobby, players are provided with Rest EXP information.
  • Tooltips for all categories in the Character Information window have been added.
  • Mounts are now allowed in the Frontline Underground Tunnel.
  • When trying to gather, climb or enter an instance while riding a mount, the player will automatically descend from their mount.
  • Two new chat channels have been added.
    • Global can be accessed by /c
    • Raid can be accessed by /ra
  • The “search all” category in the Trade Broker UI is not functioning correctly.
  • The tooltip for Savage Rhomb shows abnormal information
  • Automatic AFK logout times have been increased by a factor of 4.
    • From World to Lobby: 30 Minutes -> 2 Hours
    • From Lobby to Server Browser: 15 Minutes -> 1 Hour

Known Issues

  • Agnitor Series armour characteristics may carry incorrect names
    • e.g. More resist crit may change to "Unyielding"
    • The stats of the characteristics remain normal, it is only the name that changes
  • Some raid related text may be displayed in capital letters in scenarios where lower case characters should be use.
