New Equipment and Improved Noctenium

Patch 52 is scheduled for early February. Rise of the Warrior not only brings revisions to the warrior class, but also lots of new items. You can read about all the important improvements to the warrior before the patch arrives in the patch notes.

As we would like to introduce the new items to you in as much detail as possible, here you will find a comprehensive preview of the three biggest changes: the introduction of circlets as new equipment, the refining of noctenium infusions and a method of further improving your selected jewelry.

Please note that all names in this preview are preliminary and may appear differently in-game.

Refined Noctenium

With Patch 52 the use of noctenium infusions has been greatly simplified and made fairer across the classes. With refined infusions, a fixed number of infusions per skill is no longer consumed. Instead, using a refined noctenium infusion grants an effect lasting between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on its value. During this time, all skills that trigger a noctenium infusion effect are enhanced. No additional infusions are used in the process.

Three new items have been added for this new function, which have the following effect (extract from the item description):

The noctenium infusion effect is increased 1.5-fold and all attack abilities deal 4-12% (random) more damage. (Some skills limited to 6-20%). Cannot be used twice with regular noctenium infusions. If you enter a battleground, the effect is removed.

Refined noctenium infusion [uncommon]
Grants an effect for a 10-minute period.

Icon_Skill
Refined noctenium infusion [rare]
Grants an effect for a 15-minute period.

Icon_Skill
Refined noctenium infusion [legendary]
Grants an effect for a 30-minute period.

Note:

  • Existing noctenium infusions can still be used, but they are not as strong as the refined versions.
  • An active effect remains even after death. However, it is removed if you enter a battleground.
  • The time of an active effect only runs down while you are active in the game. The time is stopped if you switch to character selection.

The new noctenium infusions can be crafted using the previous versions. You can purchase an uncommon infusion refiner from a Vanguard merchant, for example.

Icon_Skill

Is fused with 400 noctenium infusions to craft a refined noctenium infusion [uncommon].

Icon_Skill
Noctenium infusion refiner [rare]
Is fused with 600 noctenium infusions to craft a refined noctenium infusion [rare].

Icon_Skill
Noctenium infusion refiner [legendary]
Is fused with 800 noctenium infusions to craft a refined noctenium infusion [legendary].

You can use a refiner by right-clicking on it, which will open a window. All items in your inventory that cannot be used are now grayed out – so you should now only be able to select the various noctenium infusions. Combine the number written above with the refiner to receive a new refined infusion.

New Visuals

When you use your refined noctenium, the screen will be outlined in blue for a short time at the start of the effect.

Additionally, there will be a blue glow around your right hand for the duration of the effect (10, 15 or 30 minutes). So, if the effect should ever unintentionally expire, you will quickly notice this!

New Circlets

From Patch 52 onwards, you can strengthen your character even more with this new item type! Initially, there will be two versions available: Balbatos’ Circlet and Balbatos’ Luminous Circlet:

Circlets increase your defense and balance modifiers around one and a half times as strong as earrings. In addition to this, they also increase your:

  • Maximum MP (420 / 454)
  • Crit Resist Factor (4 / 8)
  • Endurance (3 / 5)

A random bonus on this equipment also increases you attributes even further. The type of bonus can be changed using Semi-Enigmatic Scrolls, like with jewelry. The following are possible:

  • Crit Resist Factor (8)
  • Power (4)
  • Crit Factor (8)
  • Endurance (4)

Last but not least, circlets have another special effect called Spiritual Concentration. Depending on the rarity of the circlet, this means:

  • There is a small chance of restoring 3% or 5% of your maximum MP per second for a duration of 10 seconds with each hit.
  • Once this effect has been activated, it has a cooldown of 2 minutes.

Note:

  • Random effects (1x on necklaces and rings, 2x on earrings) remain unchanged by the enhancement. So if you already have the perfect combination of bonuses for you, there's no need to worry: it will remain intact.
  • Until now, some pieces of PvE jewelry (earrings, rings) could only be worn alone, so that only one Manorborne Earring, for example, could be worn at once. This limitation will no longer apply once you enhance your accessories.
